Anthura is the world's number one in the field of breeding
and propagating Anthurium, and is ranked amongst the best
for Phalaenopsis. The motivation that drives our business is
a passion for flowers and plants.
The success of our business lies in the quality and the involvement
of our people. Anthura is a dynamic company and places a
high value on innovation. We closely follow developments and
trends in horticulture and gardening. Developments are translated
into beautiful new varieties and innovative growing techniques,
aimed at growing Anthurium and Phalaenopsis more efficiently.
Furthermore, we support cooperation agreements between
breeders and contribute to the resolution of challenges concerning
assortment choice, breeding techniques, and sales opportunities.
Product quality comes first, and all stages of the production chain
are geared towards achieving this.
More than 200 employees work on high-quality plant material.
The sale of Anthurium and Orchids is generated at headquarters in
Bleiswijk. The total surface of greenhouses is 22 hectares.
Best varieties on the market
In 2009, the Top 10 best sold Anthurium cut flower varieties at
the Dutch auction, were varieties of Anthura. Anthura's Anthurium
and Orchid varieties are greatly appreciated all over the world.
Innovation and strong breeding
Anthura's Anthurium varieties are tested over long periods of
time before they are introduced on the market. This is very important
for the Anthurium cut flower culture as the plant is produced
over the course of 6 years. A team of breeders is continuously improving
the Anthurium and Orchid assortment. Our assortment is
unlimited in varieties and consists of more than 500 varieties and is
extended daily with new colours' and shapes.
Cultivation support
Anthura has a unique cooperation with Bureau IMAC. Bureau IMAC Bleiswijk BV is an independent consultancy which provides
technical and business advice on the cultivation of Anthurium and
Phalaenopsis. The firm's activities cover both cut flower and pot
plant cultivation at home and abroad. The firm is based at the offices
of Anthura B.V. This allows a unique exchange of knowledge
between Anthura and IMAC.
Strong and healthy plant material
Anthura was the first Anthurium business company to obtain
permission to grant Elite®-certificates, as from 1 January 1998. This
recognition was granted by Naktuinbouw after extensively examining
the breeding systems of the company and monitoring their own
control system and that of the Bureau IMAC.
Anthura is proud of this extra warranty of quality and sees it as
recognition of their efforts. The Elite®¬certificate is also important
for the breeders, as it is an extra warranty of quality with respect to
breed purity and authenticity, and the health of all plant material.
Anthura is the only company in the world that has been Elitet!>
certified for Anthurium plants. The Orchid plants are also produced
according to strict hygienic standards.
